Bruins clinch playoff berth

Despite not playing on Friday night, the Boston Bruins clinched a berth in the playoffs for the fifth straight season. Boston secured their spot in the Stanley Cup playoffs after the Buffalo Sabres lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-3 on Friday.

With five regular season games remaining, the Bruins currently sit in second place in the Eastern Conference with 94 points and are atop the standings in the Northeast Division, leading second place Ottawa by six points. If the season were to end today, the Bruins would face the Senators in the first round of the playoffs.
